Sylwia Barakeh is doing PhD in Psychology at Interdisciplinary Doctoral School, SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, she also holds a higher degree in Sociology (SWPS) and Economics (Warsaw School of Economics). Therefore, she tries to implement interdisciplinarity in all her research.
She focuses on emerging adulthood phenomenon and is also passionate about the Self-Determination Theory (SDT), both from a theoretical and a practical point of view. Her studies on SDT included, among others, students, artists and adults with personality disorders.
In her doctoral thesis she analyzes motivation to work among young adults in the context of the basic psychological needs and career choices. She works under the supervision of professor Jerzy Trzebiński.
